Launch of the Australian Expat Insights Survey For 2020

Launch of the Australian Expat Insights Survey For 2020 – Atlas Wealth Management is proud to launch the Expat Insights Survey for 2020.

Since the launch in 2018 the Expat Insights Survey has gone onto become the largest survey of Australian expats that has ever been conducted.

In 2019 over 3,000 Australian expats from over 85 countries participated in the survey and we’re looking to raise the bar again with a target of over 5,000 participants from over 100 countries.

“The Australian Expat Insights Survey has been a invaluable tool not only Australians who are moving overseas for the first time but also existing Australian expats who are looking to relocate to a different country” said Brett Evans, Managing Director for the EMEA region.

With one Australian resident leaving Australia to live overseas every 1 minute and 49 seconds according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics it is important that we hear from the Australian population that is equivalent to the populations of Darwin, Hobart, Canberra and Wollongong – combined!

“The previous results from the Expat Insights Survey was also incredibly valuable when we were arguing with the Federal government about the damage that the changes to the Main Residence Exemption would cause” said James Ridley, Managing Director for the APAC region.

They survey covers the key topics that dominate Australian expat conversations when they are considering moving to a new country. The topics include:

  • Careers – whether the new country is good or bad for their career?
  • Finance – are expats able to get ahead financially in their new country of residence?
  • Family – how do families adjust to living in the country and what are the schools like?
  • Lifestyle – is the country appealing from a lifestyle point of view?

The survey will run from the 3rd of February to the 31st of May 2020 with the results to be released in August 2020.
