That caution was reinforced by the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA), which delivered another rate hike—signalling inflation remains the priority, even as broader economic conditions hold up.
At the same time, geopolitical tensions are starting to filter through markets. Oil prices have surged, with Brent crude climbing above US$110 as disruptions through the Strait of Hormuz constrain global supply and keep inflation pressures elevated.
The result is a more complex investment backdrop: strong US growth and AI optimism on one side, rising inflation and geopolitical risks on the other. For investors, staying diversified remains key as these forces continue to play out.
