The Future of Global Advice Looks Good

The Future of Global Advice Looks Good – Last week I travelled to London to represent Atlas Wealth Management at the International Investment Fund and Product Awards. We were finalists in two categories – Best International Practice in Asset Management and Best Best-Practice in Offshore.

Whilst we didn’t win it was great to be recognised for our efforts on the global stage and it gives us the motivation to keep lifting the bar when it comes to providing professional financial advice to Australian expats the world over.

One of the benefits of attending these events is that you get to meet advisers from all over the world who have the same goal as we do – providing the best advice to their clients, no matter what their citizenship, background or country of residency is.

When dealing with the regulatory changes in your home country you tend to forget that this change is happening globally and even though each jurisdiction has their own take on what needs to be done, generally speaking everyone is working towards the same result – to improve the standards of the financial advice industry.

It was great to share stories with these other advisers and hear how they’ve been able to adopt their respective regulatory changes and continue to thrive in this new regulatory environment. I have written posts before how the world is becoming a smaller place and even though I was referring to expats managing their finances I think this is also true for financial advisers.

As the world population becomes more globally mobile, now more than ever, financial advisers in different jurisdictions need to work together to provide a solution that is compliant in more than one country for their clients. I know from meeting the attendees last week that this is becoming easier to achieve which in turn will result in a great outcome for expats of any nationality.

Brett Evans is the Managing Director of Atlas Wealth Management, an award winning financial services firm that specialises in providing financial advice to Australian expats. Atlas Wealth Management provides financial planning and wealth management advice to Aussie expats in over 18 countries.
