James is a Senior Consultant at Atlas Tax, specialising in advising expatriates, internationally mobile professionals and individuals on complex cross-border tax matters.
Prior to joining Atlas Tax, James began his career in external audit with Big 4 accounting firms, where he focused on Hong Kong and international financial reporting. He developed a strong foundation in financial reporting, risk assessment and compliance across a diverse range of industries. His audit experience provides him with a detailed understanding of financial systems and regulatory requirements, which underpins his analytical and methodical approach to tax engagements.
At Atlas Tax, James works closely with clients and Directors to navigate the Australian tax implications of international assignments, including capital gains tax (CGT) considerations across different residency scenarios and periods of foreign residency. He is actively involved in technical tax research, case analysis and the preparation of tax computations, contributing to the delivery of clear, accurate and practical outcomes for clients.
James holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) and a Master of Cyber Security. He is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA Australia) and a Certified Public Accountant (Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants – HKICPA).
